Rotsos Tryfon

Tryfon Rotsos was born in Athens on the 28/11/1974.

He studied and graduated from the Medical School of Athens, University of Athens.

He was a resident in Ophthalmology in UK hospitals and in the University Eye Clinic in Athens.

In 2004 he was proclaimed Doctor of Philosophy ( PhD ) in the Medical School of Athens, Grade : Excellent.

After his residency he was an ASTO Fellow  (Advanced Subspecialty Training Opportunity) for three years at  Moorfields Eye Hospital  in London. His fellowship was in Medical Retina, Uveitis, Inherited Diseases and Ocular Oncology.

After his fellowship he was appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist , Medical Retina Specialist at the University Hospital of Leicester NHS Trust,United Kingdom.

In 2010 he returned in Greece and worked in the University Eye Clinic in Athens and in his private Eye Clinic.

From 2016 to 2023 he was Academic Scholar ( Consultant Equivalent) in the A Department of Ophthalmology , University of Athens.

In 2023 he was elected Assistant Professor in Democritus University of Thrace.

He has participated in many international and regional congresses, with numerous presentations.

He is the author of many publications in peer reviewed journals (pubmed indexed).

He was elected in the administrative board of the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society from 2011 to 2021. From 2019 to 2021 he was the President of the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society.

From 2022 he is elected in the administrative board of the Greek VitreoRetinal  Society ( GVRS).

He speaks English, French and German.

He is married with Theophano Beri , has three daughters and lives in Athens, Greece.
