Boscia Francesco

Francesco Boscia, MD, is Full Professor at the Department of Biomedical Basic Sciences, neurosciences and Sensory Organs of the University of Bari, Bari, Italy. His main clinical interests are the diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. He received his medical degree from Bari University in 1986, completed his general ophthalmology residency at the same university in 1991, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at King’s College Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in 1999. Has been Professor and Chair of the Clinica Oculistica of the University of Sassari from 2013 to 2019. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, and has been Principal Investigator in 11 Clinical Trials. He was awarded the Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (2004) and Honor Award by the American Society of Retinal Specialists  (2006).
