Sofia Androudi is a Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, at the University of Thessaly, Greece. After medical studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she completed her fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. During her fellowship, she received a scholarship from Harvard University and a travel grant from the International Research Foundation for Children’s Eye Care.
She served as a member of ARVO’s Committee for Ethics and Regulation in Human Research and Global Member’s Committee. She received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (2009) and the Award for Academic Excellence from the Hellenic Ministry of Education (2012).
She practices medical and surgical retina and uveitis. Dr. Androudi has authored numerous publication in peer-reviewed journals and delivers invited lectures in many national and international meetings and universities. She is named in the Stanford’s list of the World Top 2% Scientists for 3 consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023).
